Pet Policy

At Baby Fever Child Care, we understand the importance of providing a safe and comfortable environment for all children, staff, and families. As part of our commitment to creating an atmosphere where children can learn, grow, and interact with the world around them, we offer unique opportunities in which children can work closely with enclosed domesticated animals on the premises. With this, we also understand the importance of ensuring the well-being and safety of children, as well as our animals. We’ve created and utilize a Pet Policy Consent form to allow parents to approve or deny children’s interaction with our onsite animals; as well as provide an outline of our Pet Policy, including health and safety procedures, and risk management.

By signing this form, you acknowledge the following:

1. Pets on Premises:
   • The following pets will be on the premises: “Leghorn” Chicken(s), “Frenchie” Bulldog
   • Pets are only allowed in designated areas and will not interact with children unless supervised by staff.
   • All staff responsible for the supervision of animal interaction receive training and are knowledgeable about the best animal care and behavior management.
2. Allergies and Sensitivities:
   • If your child has any known allergies or sensitivities to animals, please inform us immediately, so that we can take appropriate steps to ensure their safety.
3. Hygiene and Safety:
   • We ensure that all pets are kept up-to-date with vaccinations, are regularly groomed, and are supervised by trained staff at all times.
   • The area where pets are kept is maintained cleanly and hygienically.
4. Acknowledgment of Risk & Risk Management:
   • While every measure is taken to ensure the safety and comfort of all children, there may still be an inherent risk associated with the presence of animals. By signing below, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
   • Regular training updates are conducted to keep the team informed about the latest developments in animal welfare and interaction techniques.
   • In the event of a hazard, staff will follow proper Risk Management protocol, as follows in the Baby Fever Policy and Procedures Handbook.
5. Opt-Out Option:
   • If you would prefer that your child not interact with the animals on the premises, please indicate your preference below. We will ensure your child is not exposed to the pets during their time at the center.
